Workshop Recovery Day 1

Another Shuttlebird’s Annual Workshop has passed and now the recover can begin. It is amazing how much fun, tatting, eating and shopping can be squeezed into 48 hours. You alway leave with more than you bought, even if it is just in table favors and door prizes. I got a book on 3-D tatting I can’t wait to explore.
I took a design class from Georgia Seitz that taught me a lot and I got to teach something new to Dale Pomeroy! Nice guy and I am not just saying that because he seems to share my obsession with Aerlits Shuttles and Bobbins.
The picture I added is two of my favorite things from the weekend. The tatted piece was a gift from one of my students and is destined to become a stitch marker. The tiny shuttle is a participation prize for the Retro-Tat contest. It is just over 11/2 inches long and is going to look great in my collection.
If you have never been to our workshop, start saving now. The next one is just 12 months away.

Workshop Demos

Working up some samples for my Button class at the Shuttlebirds workshop in a few weeks.
Who knew shirt buttons could be so much fun.

More Tatting Goodness to Share!

These great clips are from Karen in Oregon. I love the cards she attached them too.
Keep spreading the word girls.

All Ready for International Tatting Day

Here are some of my clips for giving away tomorrow. Don’t forget to send your pictures in!

Weekly challenge sneak peek!

I am writing up the pattern for this cross in the morning. I promise it is worth it.

New Thread for Mama!

Stopped by Knit-n-Crochet today (http://www.knit-n-crochet.com/) to pick up a replacement ball of Lizbeth Christmas Green, 638 and just could not stop myself from picking up a couple other things while I was there. Spice Cake, 182, seemed to be just a perfect match to this chilly autumn day. Christmas Delight, 116, will make some great Christmas wreaths for family and friends. Rainbow Splash, 184, just kinda jumped into my hands and wouldn’t let go.
However, the new clear bobbins for my Aerlit shuttles and a sickness I am trying to break but I know I will go to my grave trying to get more, more more. If I could, I would have purchased them in all colors because, well, hmmmm, lets just say I have issues.
Any ideas for a neat Thanksgiving piece for the Spice Cake?

What Were You Working on Last Year?

Found an old container in the bottom of my project drawer from last Christmas. I vaguely remember thinking of giving a bunch of people earring pair and working on the chocker for the kiddo but no idea what the patterns were.
What do you have stashed away unfinished? I know I can’t be the only one who does this.
Time to fess up!

Anyone who comes clean between now and November 1 will be entered in a drawing for one of these earring pairs. You get a reason to post and I get a reason to finish them up. You’ll be doing me a favor really LOL

TAIS Finished

Here is my final photo from the TAIS. I never saw it coming.

Snowflake from Challenge #25

Here is another version of Jane Eboral’s pattern. I wrapped a larger ring and ended up with a 12 point snowflake.

TIAS Day Ten

Finally caught back up to date. Here is my piece thru day 10. Still have no idea but I am about to toss it into the trash heap. I don’t know if you all can see it, but my thread broke again when pulling the last split ring. I am going to try and do a Tat-Gyver* on it with the pattern for day 11.
Hope your pieces are going better.

Tat-Gyver: applying the skills of 80s TV hero MacGyver to a screwed up piece of tatting to avoid the 6th ring a tatting hell, AKA Retro-Tatting.
